SKYE BLEU

We recently had the pleasure of catching up with Skye Bleu and are excited to share our conversation below.

Thank you for sharing your story with us! Could you start by telling our readers a bit about your background and how your journey began?

I graduated from Chapman University’s Business School, where I developed a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and strategic thinking. While I was still in college, I began producing films, which quickly became more than just a passion—it turned into a calling. That early experience gave me both the creative and logistical insight I needed to understand the production world from the ground up. After graduating, I co-founded a film production company with my sister, Sahvannah Rae. We combined our complementary skills and shared vision to create stories that resonate deeply, both visually and emotionally.

Looking back, would you say the journey has been smooth or full of obstacles?

Looking back, the journey has definitely been filled with obstacles—but each one has been an important part of the process. Starting a company at a young age came with its own unique set of challenges, especially in an industry like film, where many of the people around me have decades of experience. At first, that was intimidating, but it quickly became an incredible opportunity to learn from those around me—their experience, advice, and mentorship have been invaluable.

In your opinion, what has been the key factor in your success?

In my opinion, one of the key factors in our success has been staying intentional—both in the projects we choose and the people we collaborate with. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with talented, passionate creatives who bring their unique perspectives and skills to the table. That level of collaboration elevates every project we touch. At the same time, my sister and I are very selective about the stories we tell—we want each project to reflect our values, our vision, and something that genuinely moves us. That combination of purpose-driven storytelling and working with the right people has helped us build something meaningful and lasting.

From your perspective, what’s the most fulfilling part of being a creative?

From my perspective, the most fulfilling part of being a creative is getting to share our projects with people and bring stories to life in a way that feels lasting. I love the moment when we finally get to show an audience something we’ve poured our hearts into—whether it’s a short film, a feature, or any piece of storytelling. There’s something really meaningful about creating work that doesn’t just exist for a moment, but holds some kind of permanence—something that can be revisited, remembered, and continue to resonate over time. That lasting impact is what drives me.
